Who we are

This policy explains how Growth Stock Investor (https://www.growthstockinvestor.com) collects and uses personal information. For any privacy question or request, contact us through our Contact page.

The short version

• We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
• Comments are closed. Comments submitted before they were closed are stored, with the IP address they were sent from, until we delete them.
• Cloudflare and our web host process technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
• We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t show ads, and we don’t use affiliate tracking.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, installed through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors find and use the site: which pages are read, how long visits last, which links are clicked and roughly where visitors are. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to tell visits and visitors apart, and uses your IP address to estimate your general location. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK (details).

Google processes this information for us. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account and is then deleted by Google.

Comments

Comments are closed on this site. Before they were closed, the comment form collected the name, email address and website entered, the comment itself, and the commenter’s IP address and browser user-agent string, which are used to detect spam. None of those comments are published. The ones still stored are held in our moderation queue until we delete them. If you commented and want your comment deleted, contact us through our Contact page.

Cloudflare, hosting and logs

Requests to this site pass through Cloudflare, which speeds up delivery and protects the site from attacks, and the site is hosted by DreamHost. Both process technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, and our host keeps standard server logs. Our site software may also record IP addresses in error and redirect logs, for example when someone requests a page that doesn’t exist. See the privacy policies of Cloudflare and DreamHost.

Cookies

• Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) tell visits apart. They last up to two years.
• WordPress login cookies are set only for site administrators who sign in.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.

Share buttons and links to other sites

Our social share buttons are simple links. They don’t load code from social networks, and clicking one takes you to that network, whose own privacy policy then applies. Articles also link to other websites; we aren’t responsible for their privacy practices.

Advertising and affiliate links

We don’t currently show ads or use affiliate links, so no advertising or affiliate cookies are set by this site. If we add either, we will update this policy first. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how paid links would be labeled.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers described above, which process it to run the site: Google (analytics), Cloudflare (delivery and security) and DreamHost (hosting). We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep information

Comments submitted before comments were closed, and the information sent with them, are kept until we delete them. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Server logs are kept for a limited period under our host’s practices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact us through our Contact page. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
